WhenrunningintheNORMALMode,whichusesthehighspeedsystemoscillator,andtherefore
consumesmorepower,thesystemclockcanswitchtorunintheSLOWModebysetthe
CKS2~CKS0bitsto“111”intheSCCregister.Thiswillthenusethelowspeedsystemoscillator
whichwillconsumelesspower.Usersmaydecidetodothisforcertainoperationswhichdonot
requirehighperformanceandcansubsequentlyreducepowerconsumption.
TheSLOWModeissourcedfromtheLIRCoscillatorandthereforerequiresthisoscillatortobe
stablebeforefullmodeswitchingoccurs.
